Description: Yellow to orange yellow crystalline powder. Has a slight special odor and a slightly bitter taste. There are three different crystal forms with different water solubility. When dry, it is not affected by scattered light, but is easily affected and spoiled by light in alkaline solutions. Stabilizing inorganic acids in the dark. Decompose at 278-282 ºC (color darkens at approximately 240 ºC). 1G is dissolved in 3000-1500ml of water, with a saturated aqueous solution pH of about 6. The aqueous solution appears yellow and shows green fluorescence. The solubility in anhydrous ethanol at 27.5 ºC is 0.0045g/100ml. Easy to dissolve in dilute alkaline solution (decomposition), slightly soluble in cyclohexanol, amyl acetate, benzyl alcohol, and p-h-e-n-o-l, insoluble in ether, c-h-l-o-r-o-f-o-r-m, a-c-e-t-o-n-e, and benzene.
