Description: It is a 7-hydroxyphenazine ketone, N-oxide obtained by oxidation with h-y-d-r-o-g-e-n p-e-r-o-x-i-d-e. It is a black light green crystal or a deep red prism shaped crystal with green luster. Dissolve in dilute hydroxide alkali to obtain a blue solution, slightly soluble in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, soluble in alcohol to display brick red fluorescence, insoluble in water and ether. The solution must be freshly prepared during use. Minimum lethal dose (rat, oral) 500mG/kG. It is stimulating. The pH value is 3.8 (orange) to 6.5 (deep purple).

Purpose: Biochemical research. Used as an acid-base indicator, used in food research as a reduction indicator for testing reductases, detecting sulfites, and detecting bacteria in milk
