Appearance: White elongated crystalline. No odor. Has hygroscopicity. Crystalline products in water contain 4 molecules of crystalline water. At around 110 ºC, it loses water, decomposes at 193 ºC, and becomes melamine at higher temperatures. Easily soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in ether. Solubility in water (G/100G): 2.0 at 25 ºC, 7.0 at 50 ºC, 53.5 at 75 ºC, 2010 at 5.5 ºC. When the aqueous solution reacts with copper sulfate and s-o-d-i-u-m hydroxide, it appears light reddish purple. Relative density (d-54) 1.467. Melting point 190 ºC (decomposition).
