1,6-hexanediol is an important chemical raw material and one of the important raw materials for various organic synthesis.

Used for producing hardeners for polyurethane, unsaturated polyester, plasticizers, gelling agents, and thermal stability modifiers for lubricating oils. It is also used in the production of pesticides such as pyrethroids, organic peroxides, cyclic musk, polyethylene plastic crosslinking agents, and polyether rubber.

1) Polyurethane field: Polyurethane elastomers are widely used in synthetic rubber, elastic fibers, synthetic leather and other fields. 1,6-hexanediol can be applied to polyester resin to modify polyurethane elastomers. The modified resin has excellent mechanical strength, water resistance, heat resistance, and oxidation resistance.

2) Polyester field: Due to the fact that the carbon chain of 1,6-hexanediol unsaturated polyester is more difficult to hydrolyze than other short chain alcohol unsaturated polyesters and has better flexibility, it can improve the alkali resistance of the resin and enhance its adhesion with glass fibers. In terms of saturated polyester, the polyester obtained from 1,6-hexanediol and 4,4-dicarboxylic acid diphenylsulfonic acid has high tensile strength and elasticity. Excellent solvent resistance and swelling resistance, especially suitable for photographic substrates. The polyester of 1,6-hexanediol and terephthalic acid is suitable for the treatment of polyester fibers.

3) Synthetic resin additive: Compared with low molecular weight plasticizers, plasticizers using 1,6-hexanediol have excellent performance in volatility resistance, oil spray resistance, migration resistance, and low temperature resistance, and can be widely used in materials such as plastics, rubber, and epoxy resins.
