Appearance: Colorless crystals or white particles. No odor. Slightly deliquescent in humid air. Weathering in dry air above 33 ºC, melting when rapidly heated to 48 ºC, losing crystalline water at 100 ºC, and decomposing at higher temperatures. Soluble in 0.5 parts of water, insoluble in ethanol. The aqueous solution slowly decomposes at room temperature, while heating accelerates the decomposition rate. The aqueous solution is almost neutral, with a pH of 6.5-8.0. Can dissolve silver halides and many other silver salts. Relative density 1.69. Melting point 48 ºC (rapid heating). Lethal dose (rat, intravenous)>2.5g/kg. It is stimulating.
